Have you ever thought about retirement?

Retirement is something a lot of people are not thinking about.  Most people see it as a subject that they will deal with much later in life. Unknowing to these group of people, for every day you defer thinking and planning about it, the more you will regret it.

But for the benefit of those thinking about it, when you think of retirement, what comes to your mind? taking unending vacations, ability to visit all your grandchildren in different parts of the world, ability to rest from your working years?

What dreams do you have for retirement?

While this is not a very interesting subject, it is a very important subject.  Retirement is not an age. it is not 30 years from now or 50 years from now for some. It is a financial number and you have got to have a plan.

Of what use is it to work for over 40 years of your life, to end up relying on your children to provide for you financially or for some relying on the government to provide you with the basic needs of life.

It doesn't matter if you earn $10,000 or $100,000. planning is planning and saving is saving. Little drops of water can make a mighty ocean.

You have got to have a financial plan for retirement.

Decide how much you need to save for retirement.

Do you know that if you are 28 years old and you save a minimum of $300 every month for 20 years and stop saving and you allow it grow in an investment account, you would have over $1,000,000 in that account. i repeat, ONE MILLION DOLLARS. Thanks to compound interest. many of us spend over $300 on food and clothes and entertainment in a month and did not even realize it, yet we don't even have a savings account not to even talk of a retirement account

Not everyone wants to be an entrepreneur but everyone should be intentional about their future. do not be a burden to your family or society in your old age.

If there is anything you should work towards, it should be the opportunity to be a giver and you can only be one when you have something to give.

Botton line is that you can save at any stage of your life even with little money. Start now, do not procrastinate.
