Who are you?

Often times when the question “ Who are you?” is asked, it is usually followed by these types of responses. I am the CEO of ABC Company or I am daughter of the richest man in Mars.  Most of the responses you get are attributed to material possessions or accomplishments. While this is not entirely wrong, it creates a huge disparity between the haves and haves not. Individuals who don't possess anything simply accept the fact that they are nobody just because they don't even have a car to their name. 

Who you are as an individual is deeper than the material possessions you have within your reach. Who you are is deeply rooted in where you come from and whose you are.

A Lion only births a Lion and even though they start their life as a cub, it doesn’t change the fact that every characteristics of a Lion is in them.

·      Who you are is not your current situation.

·      Who you are is not the experiences you have been through

·      Who you truly are remains regardless of what you have and don’t have

If you are unsure about who you are, maybe a few of these scriptures from the bible can help you get a better understanding

·      You are complete in Him Who is the Head of all principality and power 

·      You are alive with Christ 

·      You are free from the law of sin and death

·      You are far from oppression, and fear does not come near you 

·      You are born of God, and the evil one does not touch you 

·      You are holy and without blame before Him in love 

·      You have the mind of Christ 

·      You have the peace of God that passes all understanding 

·      You have no lack for your God supplies all of your needs according to His riches 

·      You can do all things through Christ Jesus

·      You are God’s workmanship, created in Christ unto good works

·      You are a new creature in Christ

·      You are a spirit being alive to God

·      You are a believer, and the light of the Gospel shines in your mind

·      You are a doer of the Word and blessed in your actions

·      You are a joint-heir with Christ

·      You are more than a conqueror through Him Who loves me

·      You are an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony

·       You are an ambassador for Christ

·       You are a part of a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people

·       You are the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ

·       You are the temple of the Holy Spirit; I am not my own

·       You are the head and not the tail; You are above only and not beneath

·       You are the light of the world

·       You are forgiven of all your sins and washed in the Blood

·       You are delivered from the power of darkness and translated into God’s kingdom

·       You are redeemed from the curse of sin, sickness, and poverty

·       You are firmly rooted, built up, established in your faith and overflowing with gratitude.

·       You are called of God to be the voice of His praise

·       You are healed by the stripes of Jesus.

·       You are raised up with Christ and seated in heavenly places

·       You greatly loved by God

·       You are strengthened with all might according to His glorious power

I hope these scriptures give you a better understanding of who you are.

Don’t let the world define you based on their standards. You define yourself based on the standard of God.
