How to be a valuable employee within your organization

Being a valuable employee is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself. It not only makes you secured within an organization, it also makes you employable anywhere. Employers are constantly looking to cut cost but never will they want to cut talent that can help them improve their bottom line.

It is not enough for you to have just technical competency. You need to have other skill sets that will distinguish you at all times.

It is very important to have technical competency because, without it, you would not even be able to do your job perfectly but above that, you also need to have at least 3 other competencies which are management, technological and leadership. These extra competencies are very vital to your success in any organization. They make you very valuable and make you almost indispensable.

You do not have to be a manager to possess management competency. Management is simply your ability to manage things and people which could range from time, resources to human capital. you could be a front line staff and still be a manager. you could be great at managing your time and the company resources in your care.

Second, you need to be technologically aware at all times. you need to know the latest trends regarding your job. Technology has become the new order of the day and companies that are not technologically aware are quick to fold so you can imagine an employee who is lagging behind in technology

Finally, you have to learn leadership. Everything rises and falls on leadership. Good leadership makes everything exceptional. It makes you stand out from the crowd.

Learn these skills today and you will begin to see dramatic value in yourself.
